I went ponatinib last January and for the most part the only real discomfort was going to have a blood test each week and not being able to go south for the winter. I didn't have to go into the hospital. I am feeling quite well on this drug although my hemoglobin is low and therefore also my energy level. I am 78. I still play nine holes of golf once or twice a week (with a cart). I guess over the last year I have lost about 30 pounds, so I do look thin. But heh, that's supposed to be easier on my heart and my oncologist does not seem to be too concerned with it. I think Ihave had a hemolitic response as my Philly count went from 100 percent to 46 percent this year. Up till now I have had 100 percent phillies while beIng on all the other drugs. Anyways we carry on the best we can
