Hi Sue.
As others have already pointed out, the best thing you can do is to learn 
as much a possible about this subject.
When I was first diagnosed, my hematologist put so much lipstick on this 
pig, it wasn't funny. He didn't even warn me about the cost of the 
medication, just "don't worry, everything will be just fine, the medication 
is well tolerated", etc, etc.
So, when the you-know-what hit the fan, I was totally unprepared and unable 
to cope with the side effects.
Make sure this does not happen to you. Knowledge is power!
