Hi, Rien. I found a dark, purple/blue spot under my tongue a couple of months ago. It was about 3 to 4mm in diameter, it had an irregular shape. When I applied pressure to it and then let go, it did not change colour, so I knew it wasn't just a burst blood vessel. My dentist didn't know what to make of it, so she sent me to an oral surgeon. The surgeon removed it and sent it to a pathologist for examination. A week and five hundred bucks later, the answer came back. It was an "amalgam tattoo". Apparently this happens when the amalgam (the stuff they use to fill cavities) gets into contact with tissue (sloppy dentist!). Hopefully your dark spot will turn out to be something harmless like this. You know the saying "if in doubt, cut it out"........and have it examined.
