Hello CML-warriors, It has been a long time since I sent messages to you, but I have continued reading all the topics with much interest. And now I have a question myself:
I have been taking Gleevec since March 2003 and I was very happy as I heard that I could participate in a European study, meaning that I could stop taking the pills since December 2014. The acr-bcr-results were fine, but now they discovered something very strange. My dentist saw that my palate was partly blue. He had never seen such a thing before and he sent me to the oral surgeon/oncologist, whose reaction was more or less the same as my dentist's. He had never seen such a thing either. He thought it could be a side effect caused by Gleevec (but I do not take it aanymore!!). He will now ask his colleagues hematologists if this could indeed be the case. If they do not have an answer, he will do a biopsy, because it could be an oral cancer, even if the color does not correspond with the diagnosis and there is not any swelling. Does anyone have any idea what this blue/violet spot on the palate could be? Thank you very much in advance for your reactions!!
