Hi "John",

If you must know, I am just a puney, little, cubicle ASP developer doing custom
development for a financial company out of the East Coast. You can decide whether or
not to "read my advice" based on that information alone. If you want to find out more
about me, you will need to formally ask me out and at least offer me a free meal and
drinks! ;-)

In all seriousness, while I am Microsoft-bias, I am a technology guy who just loves
technology (maybe that's why I have no girlfriend! ha! j/k) Having said that, I have
attended a Cold Fusion 101 class held by Fig Leaf during the "Allaire" days. I must
say that I found the class to be both interesting and educational. Let me also say
that my instructor really knew his stuff!!

I have have found this forum to be a place where people who are interested in CMS,
develop for CMS systems, or are in the market for a CMS, can come to gather
information, ask for unbiased opinions and just learn. Because of this, I thought it
was important to let people know the relationships that companies who hold user groups
or seminars have with vendors.

I have nothing against Fig Leaf, Macromedia (I love Flash!) or any other company out
there. It's great that so many companies are out there and technology continues to
grow. The reason why I even responded to this thread initially was that because I
have taken a class at Fig Leaf, I am still signed up on their mailing list. I
received an email a couple days ago mentioning this CMS seminar and also mentioning
that CommonSpot was offering a "buy one, get one free deal" if making a CMS purchase
by a certain date (BTW, I didn't know that McDonald's sold CMS! hahaha.. jk!). Maybe
I am totally wrong in thinking that there is a relationship between the two companies
but nevertheless, I thought that my fellow developers or CMS-interested folk would
want to know that before signing up for this seminar. Maybe I'm wrong.

I did mean well and if people on the list want to take me seriously or "read my
advice", that's totally up to them (keep in mind that I don't take myself seriously
most of the time). I was just trying to do a good deed. I didn't think that
Macromedia would be after me. Better make a call to Mr. Gates for backup!

"Chris" AKA Agent 008 :)
