> 1. The 4 products being "compared" are all vastly different and would meet the needs of very different people and organizations. There really is no comparison with a database-driven CMS like the Microsoft CMS or CommonSpot with Macromedia's Contribute, which while it seems to be a great product, is more targeted to people who develop static sites via a FrontPage-like product.
I think it IS an interesting comparison for exactly the same reasons. Many organization's have yet to grasp the incredible depth, breadth, variety and value differential of CM features available today. And those who focus too narrowly on a specific segment of the CM marketplace (without first identifying if they're looking in the right place) tend to under or overbuy functionality. By first comparing products across the feature/price spectrum they can zoom in on a specific segment or product *class* that appears to adequately satisfy their organization's level of need. Then, through further research and evaluation, they can compare similar products in the same *class*. > Thats all > Chris > -- Joe -- http://cms-list.org/ trim your replies for good karma.
