While I think that most people on this list would be greatly interested in attending a CMS seminar comparing 4 different CMS solutions, it should be noted and brought to the attention of all, the simple facts. 1. The 4 products being "compared" are all vastly different and would meet the needs of very different people and organizations. There really is no comparison with a database-driven CMS like the Microsoft CMS or CommonSpot with Macromedia's Contribute, which while it seems to be a great product, is more targeted to people who develop static sites via a FrontPage-like product. 2. Fig Leaf has had an ongoing relationship with Allaire/Macromedia's Cold Fusion since it's inception. Because of this, I highly doubt that Microsoft's CMS will be represented very well. It's sort of like going to an Apple Mac convention to learn more about PCs. 3. Major players in the global CMS market like Documentum, Vignette, and Interwoven won't be represented at all in this "comparison" seminar. 4. Fig Leaf and CommonSpot are known partners. FigLeaf is a reseller and does training for them!
While I'm sure your intentions are good, these facts should be brought to the attention of all on this list. They should know that this "seminar" is not being conducted by an independent CMS user's group. Thats all Chris -- http://cms-list.org/ trim your replies for good karma.
