Just a quick response. 1) You always have customisation costs, be it an open-source or commercial system. 2) Naturally if you build an open-source cms from scratch for yourself, the investement can be quite huge. But that's not very sound IMHO: Better take an already established OS CMS, which can compete/rival with commercial CMS. You then can test the system beforehand and look if it has all what you need. The above approach is much more DIY then OS, even though the DIY CMS was published under an OS License. Best Roger -- http://cms-list.org/ more signal, less noise.
