I’ve learned about butyl tape from my C&C and have been happy with its waterproofing, but I have an issue with butyl where I would welcome advice.
I tend to try to be very careful with waterproofing any deck penetrations and end up with a bit of butyl tape exposed around the edges of the hardware, handrail, etc where it meets the deck. Someone eventually sits on or near the hardware and manages to get a bit of tape on his or more likely, her, clothes. Any advice?
