Actually my buddy did just that, with a Trawler and a lot of little sailboats - He still regrets selling his Ideal 18, but now has discovered that the M-Scow is a favorite of the geriatric crowd. VERY stable at rest, and the boom is not as much of a problem as he was afraid of. His wife even goes out with him,
