I'd like to recommend one such game (if you were taling about computer
games in general, not of MUDs etc. which I know little about): Blade
Runner (EA 1999). It gets a bit dull towards the end but it still is a
rather excellent game with a strong story. It has bit of the same
problem than the movie with the not-so-plausible story, but it still is
an interesting one and the great atmosphere makes up for many small
flaws elsewhere (just like in the movie, once again).
Another one: the timeless classic Alter Ego (Activision 1986). Need I
say more?

I'd really like to hear other recomennendations. Good computer games
are so hard to find these days. I mostly go for abandonware sites, since
it seems very few good games are in production nowadays..
