@vinishjail97 did some validation for prerequisite 2. https://github.com/apache/incubator-xtable/issues/711 (column rename → wrong Iceberg field ID): root cause is in IcebergSchemaSync.addUpdates (the sink, matches columns by name not field ID). Both Delta extractors already preserve field IDs correctly on the source side — the bug is downstream and format-agnostic. Fixing it once fixes both paths. https://github.com/apache/incubator-xtable/issues/813 (_delta_log mistaken for a Hudi partition): this is Hudi's own filesystem-fallback listing behavior, triggered by any standards-compliant _delta_log directory. Kernel and Standalone produce identical log layouts, so neither is more or less exposed. https://github.com/apache/incubator-xtable/issues/641 (Iceberg source NPE): crashes entirely on the Iceberg-source side (IcebergColumnStatsConverter), before any Delta target code — Standalone or Kernel — ever runs.
