Lest our farenheitical readers are led to believe that us Brits think 
74F is warm, I should correct Mark's calculation of the temperature in 
Southampton, where we both live, yesterday:

27C - divide by 5, multiply by 9 and add 32 gives: 80.6F. And yes, it 
was way hotter than that outside. And yes, we get those temperatures so 
rarely that home air-con is virtually unknown. Head for the car!
