very likely, since i don't know if they came out of an se, an se/30, a
IIci or a IIsi, since i've replaced drives in all of them. i never
noticed the difference. does the plus support an internal scsi drive, i
don't remember? if so one could be from there as well. i've labeled my
collection of floppies as to which machine they came from, other than
those i got on ebay/swaplist as i know they are different in many cases,
but i never worried about hard drive computability other than fitting it
in the box. i've even got a IIsi that didn't have a drive sled, so i
drilled holes in the bottom and used hex standoffs to support it over
the speaker, 3 out of 4 holes lined up and i considered that good
enough, it also allows a taller drive though it's not as trivial to swap
as with the bracket. i had the standoffs collecting dust and saw no
good reason to buy a sled. if it weren't for power supply limitations i
might replace the floppy with another hard drive for that matter, i have
one of the external 1.4k drives should i need one. similarly i used
screws and washers and short standoffs to mount a hard drive in a 7100
that didn't have a drive sled (i used the standoffs just to allow
airflow over the drives board, and a full ht. 3.5" drive fits very
nicely that way. mac hardware can often be modified to allow larger
drives, not use the brackets, and in some cases to add drives very
reasonably. maybe next spring i'll figure out how to add a pds slot to
an se/30 for a vid card, and modify the crt electronics for gray scale
or a larger display (modifying the drive electronics for gray scale
shouldn't be that hard at it's limited resolution and video
frequencies). if so i'll definitely let the list and gamba know, gamba
has a great site, and appears to show how to add a cache card to an
se/30, if he got it working i'd definitely be interested.
