Just today I put one more into service geared toward the Senior Citizen as a first foray into computing. Using MacroMaker from 6.0.3 in a 6.0.8 OS, I set up the SE Tour to spring to life when the owner presses the "return" key. At the end of the tour, the window of the Tour is minimalized to a point that all they see is the word "<<Press" which spurs them to click the window closed so they can go on to explore the rest of the Mac. And the LC's? I like the school backpack idea. But even more, I like using my fully-loaded LC. Almost every conceivable CDEV and INIT it will do without crashing running System 6.0.8 is in it. Trying to hold them to modern computing uses is vain. My LC likes doing email. Won't do websurfing without a text-only browser. Don't care. I know its limitations and I hold it close for that very reason. Seen any 80286 PC's do email lately? Nahh. But you'll keep seeing my LC along with my all-time favorite Mac Plus doing that job. Murder NEVER occurs to me. They remain too DAMN useful. Just ask the lady with epileptic seizures I just gave an LC to. She's sending her Classic II to her niece when I get her a second keyboard. She adores her new Mac, because it's in color. And because it powers her Stylewriter 1200. And because she's learning a new career. Her old one can't serve her in her present condition.
