That's right. If I spot a Mac SE FDHD with two drives, and I need a drive to salvage a Mac Classic, the SE's out of here. The Classic is a better looking machine. The SE's tend to have analog board problems. I mean, Jeez, when you have dozens of Baby Macs and you don't have room for all of them, some of them have got to go. And I don't keep a house full of cats or a yard full of dogs either.
LC's are ought the door, too, if it comes to a decision on maintaining an LC II or III or higher. And an LC II is out of here without adequate memory. Why should I spend money on memory for a crippled machine anyway. You want to see my stack of LC IIs? How about 40 meg drives over 80s? You gotta draw the lign. Some ideas on what to do with too many LC IIs: take them apart and nail the upper and lower halves to the garage, so you can store LC IIIs or LC 460s or 475s. The LC II is slow. If I find an LC II that sports 10 megs of memory, then I find a home for it. 4 megs is hardly worth the effort and I have a hard time coming up with the cables for an external CD case. You gotta draw the line somewhere when you have a garage full of computers spilling over onto the patio and into your house, filling up a bedroom. But I've seen worse. Monitors. Good or bad, I am tearing the excess ones up to use the plastic. No guilt feelings here. Drive through Texas and go south of Tyler. A guy has a sign up at his home that says, "Computer Monitors." Stop in and check his house out. His garage is full and so is his house, livingroom, kitchen, bedrooms. And they all work too. Dale -- Caddo County Harpman - ccharpman!
