Whoa, you lost me at "remove the back"  :-)!

I haven't opened up a compact mac since I upgraded the memory of my Classic
back in 1994, and oh yeah, I made my techie roommate do that one. ;-)

Seriously, I would like to learn to work on the inside of macs, that's part
of why I started collecting them again now that I have plentiful attic and
basement space, but I hardly know where to begin.
