You have to feed the sheets one at a time (unless you have the rare sheet feeder option). There is a large switch next to the turning wheel that selects friction or pin feed paper. Placing a sheet in the back and pressing form feed positions it at top of page. Often I press line feed once or twice to move down into the page a bit. Then press Select to enable printing. You can get a lot of pin feed paper and a couple of ribbons for the cost of one new ink jet cartridge. But the ink jets print better and are more convenient to use.
