Does your information package include the logic that went into the 
Maverick chip?  It may be more trouble than it's worth, but if you 
know what logic was inside the chip there is certainly an FPGA 
available that can be made to do the same function, unless it was a 
mixed analog/digital logic chip.   The pinout might end up arranged 
differently, but since you're going to need to lay out a circuit 
board for it anyway, that shouldn't present a problem.

I don't have much experience yet and there may be other list members 
with more experience (I don't have a good feel yet for what expertise 
is on this list) but my profession is as a chip designer.   I can at 
least poke at VHDL and Verilog or work on a schematic capture design, 
or whatever is appropriate for the information you have.  I haven't 
done any FPGA designs yet, though so there'd be a learning curve.

My point is, I'm willing to help, if my skills would be useful.
