Laserwriter 16/600 and 512K (was:Preserving 400k Disks?)

I'm *soooo* close to getting this to work (well, maybe not!). I managed 
to pare down System 3.0 enough (I had to remove EVERYTHING except the 
Control Panel and Chooser) to fit the Laserwriter 7.0 driver (and 
Laserwriter Prep file) onto a 400K floppy, with about 10K to spare. 
System 3 seems to be the earliest version that supports a Laserwriter 
driver at all - the others just ignore the file.

And looking in the Chooser, I can see my 16/600! The name I've given 
the printer appeared right away. Below is a picture of this if you're 
interested (I thought even getting this far was pretty cool).

Unfortunately, this is about as far as I get. My Mac crashes with a 
Type 3 error whenever I either try and print, or enter Page Setup. This 
happens in any app, and in the Finder as well. I went back and 
recreated another System disk from my image just to see if something 
got corrupted, but it happened there too. Perhaps my image is somehow 
corrupt, but I'm more likely to believe that System 3.0 and LW 7.0 just 
don't like each other completely.

So my next step was finding a newer System. System 4 is the latest 
that'll run on a 512K anyway, so it seemed like a good candidate. I 
created a disk from my image, and looking at the sizes of the fonts 
installed, I should be able to get the Laserwriter driver on there too 
after removing the fonts. Buuuut, for some reason Font/DA Mover (v3.8) 
crashes my IIci whenever I try and remove many of the fonts! Arrrgg! It 
worked fine on the System 3.0 system file. It doesn't crash when 
removing all of the fonts, but enough of them that I can't clear enough 
space for the driver. Could be a corrupt file, but the fonts DO all 
seem to work on my 512K in MacWrite. Could it be that I need an older 
version of Font/DA Mover?

Does anyone have an old version, or know where I can get one?

Anyway, sorry for the long post. Just thought I'd share! I'm so close, 
I can feel it!
