Hey there everyone,

I'm new to this world, so please bear with me. A few weeks back I came into posession of a Mac SE/30 courtesy of eBay and I love it to pieces. There was nothing on the hard disk, so I installed System 6.0.8 on it. Then I had quite a shock - turned out the previous owner had upgraded the RAM to 20MB and there was a RasterOps Colorboard 264/SE30 in the back!

Last night, I set up a 8.5GB external SCSI hard disk and installed System 7.5.3 onto it along with Mode32 to access all that lovely memory. Since I'm doing a PhD I'm now thinking that this lovely machine will be ideal to write my thesis on, and I want to upgrade it to the absolute limit! I'm already thinking about ordering some more RAM to take it to 128MB, but have developed an urge for some colour...

Ideally, I'd like to attach a monitor to it, but old Apple monitors are very scarce here in the UK. The obvious solution is to use my existing PC monitor but since it's multisync it's not supported by the RasterOps board. I was wondering if anyone has experience of the Griffin Technology "Mac II Series Adapter" - I think it's what I need, but Griffin refuse to confirm whether or not it will work, and don't have equipment to try it out.

My ultimate goal? A 128MB RAM SE/30 with a 8.5GB hard drive, System 7.5.5 (maybe) and a full colour display on a TFT monitor. Nice, huh? Any advice on hooking my machine to a PC monitor would be welcome!

Paul
