Unfortunately, I'm working some pretty heavy overtime right now, and can't recall my question, though I'll guess it was where to obtain Apple 2 software (142 hours in two weeks will make most men forget... ah, heck, I don't remember :) ) Regarding the 5.25 drive, I have a friend of a friend who's selling Apple IIgs's for $20 with monitor, keyboard, mouse and some (pirated?) software. If I didn't have too many machines already, I'd probably buy one, and probably will next time I'm there. He's got pallets of Apple 5.25 drives, but from a post earlier in the week (last week?), this card only works with one model. Hopefully, he has one of that model, as he lives only 3 minutes from here, and my payment to him is to help clear out his storage shed of old, useless computer parts. (so far I've gotten an SE FDHD, a few Plus's, a few SEs, quite a few external SCSI HDs and CD-ROMs, etc., and he has never accepted a penny from me) To me, the biggest issue will be the 5.25 floppies themselves, not the drive, the card, or an actual Apple IIe. I'll go out on a limb here and guess that Apple II drives were single sided double density. I know the paper punch trick to make a DS/DD disk read as two disks in a SS/DD drive, but there hasn't been a 5.25 disk in this house since I sold off my TRS-80 Color Computer stuff about 2 years ago. What kind of disks work with the drives that work with this card? Thanks, J White -- Compact Macs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/>.
