It doesn't seem to matter how I try to configure the CC (I'm figuring the
problem is in the CC due to the fact that no lights come on on the hub when
I connect it) nothings seems to work. I've got AppleTalk set to share
through the Ethernet (although I do get an error saying "an error occurred
attempting to use ethernet, make sure you network connections are correct,"
when TCP/IP is set to use DHCP, I've tried a host of addresses manually in
TCP/IP, all with no luck).

Hi.
Sorry for the snip and I have no real suggestion yet but would like more info on the model # of the router and type of ethernet card you are using.

At this early stage I would suggest a driver problem, either the correct one hasn't been installed properly or is nonexitant. One of my macs has a ethernet card that displays the same problem when the extension is not loaded as does the Dynalink to bring use back onlist proper. For this we need the type and model of ethernet card you have installed. I'm guessing this may cover it:

If you have no other install disk try here

I'd suggest a static address to suit your router, without knowing the model its possibly not worth mentioning and is the only choice with Mactpc at any rate..
Again, I'd guess that 10.3 does appletalk over tpc only? If this is the case nothing will work with a badly configured stack. Older versions of appletalk get past problems that tpc can't.

For the moment leave off on the x-over cable. ;) Again I'm guessing, the router will auto detect the hub when the hubs uplink port is used, no x-over cable will be any more useful than a standard cable. Lets get a driver for the nic installed and any diagnostic tools that may suit and work from the mystic up. We can get to the tpc stack (MacTPC or OT) sorted once the lights are lit.

Please note no mention of pulling the pram battery or resetting it so the card has been clearly seen by the lc575 has been made. ;)

Sorry, Ive come late to the thread and may be repeating info.
