Mystic would be a Color Classic with an upgraded logic board, in this case,
one from an LC575 (along with a few other mods :).

I haven't had any luck getting either machine to "see" the other. Ideally
I'd like to be able to share files between the iBook and the Color Classic
and get online with the Color Classic as well. (iBook already works :)

Could be, but the flashing lights on the card indicate something's
happening, right?

I'm figuring maybe is software related, or I don't have something setup
correctly... ??

Checked that, there's an extra slot on there marked uplink (making a total
of 6 in all), but I'm not connecting either machine through that one.

Guess I should invest in a crossover cable?
