I'm having some troubles getting my Mystic (OS 7.5.3) to network with my
iBook (OS 10.3 with AppleTalk enabled using SharePoints). I've yet to be
able to "see" one machine from the other, much less do any file sharing or
get the CC on the internet.

Admittedly, I am all thumbs when it comes to networking... Any help will be
greatly appreciated.

I've checked jagshouse, read through the related past posts in the forum,
gone over the FAQs and done a number of hours of googling and still can't
find a solution to my problem.

I've got a cable modem connection, running to a Belkin wireless router that
I connect my iBook to. From the router, I've got a D-Link 10baseT 5 port hub
connected to my Mystic. The Mystic is using an Asante NuBus ethernet card.

When I plug everything up, the green LED on the Asante card lights up, but
no lights on the hub come on to indicate that the Mystic is connected.
However, when I plug the Mystic directly to the iBook the green LED flashes
(regular ethernet cable, dont have any crossovers just yet). And of course,
when I plug the iBook into the hub, it lights up like a christmas tree.

It doesn't seem to matter how I try to configure the CC (I'm figuring the
problem is in the CC due to the fact that no lights come on on the hub when
I connect it) nothings seems to work. I've got AppleTalk set to share
through the Ethernet (although I do get an error saying "an error occurred
attempting to use ethernet, make sure you network connections are correct,"
when TCP/IP is set to use DHCP, I've tried a host of addresses manually in
TCP/IP, all with no luck).

I'm sure the answer is something simple that I've overlooked, suggestions
would be great.

Thanks,

Chris
