Here's dumb question - what's a mystic? More specifically, you are trying to get your ibook to connect to which Mac?
Without know that, here's some simple answers that may or may not work - 1) It is possible that your ethernet card is not working. 2) You are plugging your ethernet cable to the wrong slot (a lot of hubs and switches, slot 1 doubles as an uplink.) 3. Obviously, your hub is working. I would get a crossover cable and see if your ibook can see your other computer directly. Just because it's lighting up like christmas tree on your ethernet card doesn't mean much.
