I have not yet updated the page
http://www.weddslist.com/kgs/future.html, I shall do so today.
I have updated that page. I have also spotted a problem - now the board
sizes go in a 2-cycle, and the timezones also go in a 2-cycle. So as
things stand, Japanese and NZ entrants who want to watch their bots play
during daylight hours will be restricted to small-board events, and
Americans to full-board events.
Three possible fixes:
1.) break the alternation pattern once in a while by e.g. having two
consecutive 19x19 events
2.) change the cycle to 19x19 slow - 19x19 fast - small-board slow -
small-board large
3.) find someone to organise every third tournament in the East
Asia-America time zone. This person should live in East Asia or the
west coast of North America (or be willing to run the event while most
of their neighbours are asleep), and should have admin powers, so that
they can assign results and close games when the bots fail to finish a
game. I could still do the job of registering the players - I would
remain online until the event has started, which I assume will be around
00:00 GMT.
I much prefer (3). Is there someone reading this, with enough admin
powers, who is willing to volunteer?
I shall also create this Sunday's tournaments and open them for
registration today.
Or maybe not. When I try to create the tournaments, the server sends me
a java error message. This is not my fault, another KGS admin who
creates tournaments for humans has hit the same problem. I have emailed
wms about it, and I hope he will allow the tournaments to be created
soon.
