Windows XP still supports machines with as little as 64MB of memory, I
will agree partially that anything under 512 for Windows XP is
insufficient but still should run normally, even with SP3 installed.

When it takes minutes to transfer small files or pictures it usually
means that the hard drive is failing.  But not in all cases.
