Yes, I see the error in my thinking. I was thinking only of all the software
hooks and references, not about all the device drivers, hardware references
etc. Of course, I will have to reinstall after all on the new machine if I
want a clean dual boot.

Ahh well, at least the light bulb is now on :)

Unless your new machine has the same chipset and other hardware that your
current machine has, all you will get, most likely, are blue screens and
reboots.
