If you don't choose to format the drive, it will just overwrite the Windows
specific files, like the Registry and all the Service Packs or monthly
patches.

It won't delete any My Documents folders or the like.  If you have any user
settings in folders, like for Firefox, those will remain.  If the settings
are in the Registry, those will be deleted.
