When you say that "AVG was no less a mess", does that mean it was unable
to scan the computer either, or are you talking about something else? I
don't know much about Norton and its errors, but if you're unable to run
virus scans with either Norton or AVG, my first thought is that it's a
virus already in the computer preventing it. Did you try Avast, or
perhaps any other online scans?

Good luck,
Richard P.
When I try to do a scan, I get an error. The error is '3038, 104'.
That leads me to the Symantec Technical Support Knowledge Base where,
I have two choices. Either 'Installation Errors' or, 'Other Errors'.
Then it tells me to download the Norton Removal Tool followed by,
downloading Norton SystemWorks.
I un-install NSW and, re-install it. But I keep having problems
scanning because, I keep getting the same error code.
I did try to use AVG but, it was no less a mess.
Any ideas as to why NSW keeps giving the same error code?
