All my other forums (and lists) pretty strictly forbid format wars. The video production lists I'm on routinely discuss - maybe once a year - different formats and systems. "Discuss" is the key word here. A newcomer joins and asks what system they should invest in, and everyone has learned to discuss what _they_ use and why, without putting down anyone else's choices. As you know, video is a vertical market so Macs represent quite a large percentage of members - maybe 70% (but many use PCs too).
I suppose there may have, at one time, been someone like Tom around, but if so they've either been told off by the mods or just wandered off because no one would take their troll bait.
