I won't try to compare my knowledge of computers against anybody else's, but I can confidently say that I know a lot about computers. You certainly know things I don't know, and I certainly know things you don't know. I consider this remark an outright insult. BTW, I have never been in the position of advising anybody on what make of Unix server to purchase. I would also never try to dissuade anybody from buying an Apple server in favor of a Sun or IBM server. I really don't particularly like any of those companies, but their products have been proven in mission-critical environments for decades. I don't have any reason to believe the Apple product is in any way inferior to the others, but it would surprise me to see any IT manager throw out a perfectly good set of Solaris boxes to replace them with Apple products. Note I did not say anything in favor of servers running Microsoft OSes, please don't put those words in my mouth! These have their uses, but I don't think anybody believes them to be as reliable as Unix servers. ************************************************************************* ** List info, subscription management, list rules, archives, privacy ** ** policy, calmness, a member map, and more at http://www.cguys.org/ ** *************************************************************************
