You've got a hardware issue if this is the 3rd time.  

I doubt you have a free 2.5" HD laying around, but it's worth a shot if you
do to see if it makes any diff.  It could be memory, I've seen something
similar with a bad stick installed.

If you do get a new drive, go for a 7200 RPM drive if you can.
