Betty I buy pretty much most of my drives from Newegg.
Look there are read their reviews. see quite a lot of Macbook folks
reviewing drives that work well within Macbooks.
I just got a new 320 WD blue and a Rosewill SATA external case.
I was going to swap out the drive in my Netbook but figured I need
the 320 for an external more than I need it in the Netbook.
The Rosewill case is a great little case. USB2 but still a slick case.

drives that I might open, remove from the case and put into my Mac,
after testing for a few weeks.
I picked up a WD My Passport Essential 500GB drive on Friday, but
reviews don't look good. How does it compare to the Seagate
FreeAgent portable drive? I have a larger FreeAgent drive that was
defective and replaced; it's been working fine since then. The WD
Passport has a microUSB port like a digital camera, and the cable
tends to get disconnected.
My other option is to buy a bare drive and an enclosure for the old
drive. 5400 RPM is OK. Max [supported] drive size for my MacBook is
500GB. Which bare drives are more reliable?
