--- Comment #59 from Simon <[email protected]> ---
Dear Ray,

Do you use Affa on a regular basis?
We use it with allmost every customer that uses SME and we do not have any
problems with restoring files, have used the Affa rise feature several times to
migrate to new hardware or software.

What I tried to say was, that this software concept is fantastic. Maybe the
software itself needs some work, ok.
But my personal en professional option is that a backup on USB disk is a flawed
concept.
The whole idea about a backup is that there is no human intervention needed.
The USB disk has to be replaced by a person and offcourse can be forgotten.
Migrating to new hardware can be done via USB disk, ok nice. My network is much
faster 1Gbit/sec instead of 540mbit/sec (usb 2.0).

So lets stop killing eachothers ideas and lets try to imagine how to make this
software a part of SME. (Or the concept) I dont care as long as it works
correctly and functionably.

Something offtopic maybe is the lack of an upgrade path for SME 8.x to SME 9.x
on the same hardware. Would you backup a live machine to a USB disk and then
format the whole machine and discover that there is a problem with that DAR
archive so you can't restore the live machine again?
It gives me the chills.

Greetings,

Simon
