As Ray correctly pointed out it is unlikely to become 'core'. We already have
enough to maintain in the core without adding anything else. We also want to
make changes to things like the server manager itself, which takes much higher
precedence with limited hands.
However, there is nothing to stop this being a top class contribution - I use
and love it myself :-)

Please read the various posts on v9 and upgrading in the forums and the Wiki.
'No upgrade path' was NOT a Koozali SME decision, but one made upstream by
RHEL. As we follow RHEL/CentOS, we have to live with some of their decisions.
There are some documents online about 'in place' upgrades, but it is not
something we can recommend, because they don't.
Your argument is slightly flawed with USB. You could just as easily have a
problem with Affa. Format the live machine, reinstall with Affa contrib, run
restore from backup server, find archive is trashed..... No system is perfect.
I digress. Start a thread on devinfo and we can discuss there !
