Thanks again for your help.
It looks like usblp0 gets detected during startup, but I added
the line to rclocal anyway.
I did as you suggested and reconfigured via the Mandrake Control Center.
There are about 100 HP drivers there. I tried about 30 of them.
None work. But--and I think this is good--a couple of the drivers did at
least make the light flash on the printer--so something is getting
sent to the printer with a couple of the drivers.
I think....
Anyway, there is no driver for HP Laserjet 1200 there.
I tried Laserjet Series, and Laserjet cups v1.1 but neither works at all--no
response from the printer at all.
Any thoughts on this?
