Ok,
1. yes I can see the contents of the directoy on vty2 using ls -l.
2. On vty1 I am seeing:

3. On vty3 I am seeing:

4. On vty4 I am seeing no errors and the only thing of note is that it
detects the cd's as Microsoft Joliet 1 ISO 9660.

Being able to see the list and select packages is independant of the
actual RPM's. You could do this even if there were no RPM files on the
CD. That list is pregenerated in the process of building the install
image.
Please try the steps I recommended before so I can try to get to the root
of the problem.
