BTW I plan on buying the CD's in the next week or so ... only if you think
that would help of course. I would love to help out Mandrake as used to use
Mandrake on my PC at work (before I was dot.bombed).

This bothers me a little.  I don't believe the original ISO image was
Joliet.  These screens were all at the point where the install stops?
I would think VT3 at the point you mention would be showing information
referencing the RPM's, as dependencies are reviewed and the package
install initiates.
