If the CD problem is fixed in the newer kernel, I'm not going to worry about it too much, as the kernel has been rev'd several times since beta1. Did you change anything in the default config? I've been told X in cooker doesn't work on rage128 now. You could uninstall that version an re-install the one from the beta1 CD. I've seen some other folks using MOL, so maybe it's an issue with nvidia, like X. The 2 OS's have no overlap. It sounds like your system is basically working aside from the keyboard issues. I can't really do much to debug X issues over ssh.
