What more information I can get while it freezes in quite early stage? I think it freezes while trying to initilize ide system bus. So propably there will be nothing in logs. I installed the kernel from RPM, copied it to boot, configured it as one choice in yaboots menu and restarted. > Did you change anything in the default >config? The file system map broken is new to me. Sorry about being messy in my message. This was the Dual processor G4 computer G4/450MHZ with ati128Rage pro. So it broke when installing 8.2B, it was working with 8.0. No changes in harware. We can have talk etc open while I do what you ask me to and tell you what happends. After about two hours I am leaving Helsinki and I will be back on sunday. We have changed Mac models and we have currently unused beige G3 computers and some older models. Naturally I can not send them there, and I have very limited amount time to use for this. I can install Mandrake from Cd, and leave ssh open to some ip, that is about all. I do not know if there are in Finland, Helsinki anyone who would have more time and expertice to test differrent configurations. I could loan old computers for test use.
