The only thing I can think of is this message David sent me: - the dri problem, but only on iMac 1999/2000/Rage 128: if dri is activated, X (but not the whole computer) freezes after some seconds. I tried some fixes, none worked. I'm trying some others at present time. But he thought it was isolated to the iMacs. Do you have dri enabled?
