------- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-29-08 15:14 ------- the name doesn't resolve to the IP. Another user has same problem, and using a name too which can't be resolved. Perhaps the script tries "ifconfig hostname eth0" instead of "ifconfig IP eth0" which could explain why the interface is up without IP -- Configure bugmail: http://qa.mandrakesoft.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is. ------- Reminder: ------- assigned_to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] status: NEEDINFO creation_date: description: During install I didn't configure my network. (didn't scroll the resume box). the default is dhcp(/zeroconf?). I ran drakconnect (the first time in drakconf, the second time alone), to configure it. I entered all my parameters: fixed IP, etc, etc.... The ending box said all is okay, but not. the driver for the card is loaded. but no ip is assigned to interface. Seems that the files /etc/sysconfig/network and /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0 aren't written with the new values.
