done some more work:
"service network start" makes eth0 no coming up.
I've added a -x for the script.
The problem is:
"initlog -q -c '/sbin/ifplugd -w -b -i eth0'"
"failure 'Activation de l'interface eth0:"
rc=1

I've tried the 'ifplugd -w -b -i eth0'
and yes it doesn't configure the interface

description:
During install I didn't configure my network. (didn't scroll the resume box).
the default is dhcp(/zeroconf?).
I ran drakconnect (the first time in drakconf, the second time alone), to
configure it. I entered all my parameters: fixed IP, etc, etc.... The ending
box said all is okay, but not.
the driver for the card is loaded. but no ip is assigned to interface.
Seems that the files /etc/sysconfig/network and
/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0 aren't written with the new values.
