------- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-12-09 02:30 ------- Funny you should write just now! Hopefully you'll be able to look at the info I include here and see what is wrong. I thought PAM might be part of the problem, and so I deleted all the PAM entries in /etc/pam and reinstalled all the suppliers of those files from cooker RPMS. So in theory, I have a 'clean' set of PAM configuration files. I will confirm if I get time. I also deleted *all* dotfiles from ~/ as well as all files in ~/tmp and /tmp. Restarted computer, logged in and .... same problem. So the problem comes from somewhere else. Here is my latest .xsession-errors errors: startkde: Starting up... Cheers, Paul. Oh, and if there's *any* information I can supply which might help... PD. I have tried the following without resolving the problem: * emptied /tmp * removed ~/Desktop (which was recreated of course) * removed .kde (which was also recreated) This is my first bug report (!! I'm so ashamed!!), so please let me know if I am doing this wrong. I will read the documentation when I have time.
