Ok, thanks, but when I get into X, there seems to be a virtual desktop 
active, where to see the borders of the screen, you have to move your 
pointer to the edge, then the border slides over ...know how to turn this 
off?

...and at highest resolution, there is a white vertical band on the 
right-hand side of the screen.


Is 4.0 supposed to be faster?  It seems to take up more RAM.
