In 7.1?


Install the 4.0 from from the CD.

Change the /etc/X11/X symlink to point to the new binary
/usr/X11R6/bin/XFree86

Run /usr/X11R6/bin/XFree86 -config to get a starting XF86Config file (save
the old one).

That shoudl be it. (They'll correct me pronto if I'm wrong :-) )
