VMware has modules they load into the kernel. No re-compile of the kernel source required. Since running running Mandrake I haven't had to ( or really wanted to ) re-compile the kernel from source. And yes I used to do it all the time. Right now that 's what has kept me from trying Win4Lin. I have a nicely running system and won't do a whole lot to it until Mandrake has a 2.4 based distro ( yes my main box is still at 7.1 ) > According to the feedback I got from Trelos (now Netraverse), the Mandrake > folks just don't want to consider it.
