true. It's Linux in general.
Until some good API will be widely use and more open format this will
stay as it. Look, people more and more use wma for streaming purposes (
radio, etc ... ) and only MS OS can read it. If it was an Open format,
nopb at all. But it's a closed proprietary format. Even real is not so
good as it is the same but ... there's at least Linux support.
Many things need to be done as sound improvement ( see alsa inclusion in
kernel ), maybe real time support ( I really hope mdk use a rt kernel
for a desktop distro, it's so usefull and pleasant ).

But in fact Xp is a very good thing to think about : everything is
integrated but you are closed in closed propretary format and most of
the time MS format. It's like a slavery. So the question is : does XP
too many integrated ?

both can be download via internet.

No you are pathetic !
ok ?
If you still belive that terminal is like DOS so you are pathetic.
Terminal will never leave and may never leave. If you don't know the
organisation of Linux so you must read more doc and know how is organise
an Unix system.
If you don't know how to use a term, it's on your own, but don't blame
them. Term are powerfull for users that know what to do with them and
very usefull when there's a problem. Sometimes I really rather use a
term than a GUI. When I know what I want to do it's faster.

What is comedy? Comedy is the art of making people laugh without making
them puke.
